Dog Friendly Places To Hold Your ROM + Our Preparation Journey

Moving on from the Proposal. Of cause we need to get married. HAHAHA.

And HOW CAN I GO THROUGH SUCH A SPECIAL DAY WITHOUT MY DOGS?!

In case u miss their face haha

I know that the chances of my dogs attending my wedding banquet is 99% impossible, thus I have to find a way to let them be part of my ROM, no matter what.

And so.. within that 5 months we hunted quite a number of places that is, number 1 criteria:
Dog Friendly.

Our initial plan/ 1st choice was to hold at Lorong Halus, at the educational kiosk because
                                          1) it is big enough to accomodate the guests
                                  2) Super dog friendly cause we use to go there every week
                                                    3) Nice scenery for phototaking
                                                              4) Low-cost.

But but but.. We almost died waiting trying to apply the license. From Npark, got directed to PUB. And PUB took a few weeks to tell me that I should fill up a form together with a fire dont know what plan incase of emergency. I asked them how detailed should my proposal be and after 3 months they finally get back to me. THANKS ALOT. Might as well after my ROM then reply -_-".

Then we also shortlisted Ah B Cafe, it's quite a good choice because
 1) it is definitely dog friendly LOL because its a dog cafe in case you didn't know.
2) It is very spacious, like VERY.
3) They have nice out door bricky walls for photo-taking.
But..... the indoor area is above our budget :X and I am afraid that the outdoor area once it rains all of us will have to get wet.

Then I happened to spoke to Kevin and he's like. COME TO TORTE LAH!!! I WAS SOOOO HAPPY because idk how come i didn't think of it. haha. Felt like i strike Toto to find a place that is
1) Still dog friendly (It's not a dog cafe but they 100% will allow dogs)
2) Centralized and easy for my guests to find.
3) Nice food!
So we went ahead with all the viewing of venue, rough planning etc and till the last stage of paying deposit.. Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, they have to stop operations. So T_T. Need to find alternatives. Sigh.

I went on to search for other parks like Bedok Reservoir/ Pasir ris park/ Wawawa Cafe/ Cafes (but alot only allow the dogs OUTSIDE. I cannot. Where got ppl bring dog Rom den leave the dog outside in the hot sun for 2 hours plus while all the humans eat inside and enjoy aircon.) and also some charge a super expensive price like $5k for 3 hours including food. Without decorations okay. Hotels are out because most of them dont allow dogs/ exceed our budget.

Then one day, Belle asked me. Eh, you got try asking Roboyes anot? I'm like. I saw leh but haven't ask. So she helped me to contact them. They are considered a new cafe situated in the neighbourhood near Old Airport Road market. Went to stalk their Facebook and I fell in love with their interior colour - Blue & white and just nice it fits my Under the sea theme! ~.~

We are so fortunate to have found them because
1) ITS A DOG CAFE.
2) Their colour matches our theme!
2) The cafe is new, nice, clean and cosy
3) They are reasonably priced.
4) Location is quite centralized (not extreme east or west)
5) Sharon and Jaren from Roboyes are nice and helpful people, they assisted us in the decorations and arrangement of the tables and chairs without complains and even offered to take down their photo frames and certain decorations in order to match my theme.

Venue: Settled.

Decorations: GA GI LAI aka Ownself do aka D.I.Y

In order to save $$$, we decided to take things to our own hands. And also because I have a bunch of supportive and talented family and friends lah. haha.

Ordered my seashells & starfish from taobao with the help of belle.

Our D.I.Y Frame

Photobooth props: Bought the materials from Art friends, done by Le Hub & me during our free time

Before

After

ROM Table centre piece: The thing that looks like... idk, jellyfish? Planet? alien? Doesn't matter cause I like it. Done by my dear sister with whatever materials we can find at home. The W&M Styrofoam was painted by me. Bought from Artfriend again.

ROM Chair ribbon: Bought from carousell, creatively tied by my mummy. HENG She used to be a florist because her skills really came in useful and make the whole place look very nice.

ROM pen: I decided not do D.i.y my pen in the end cause im just gonna use it for 5 mins. So i use a pasarmalam pen I previously bought at $1.50 only!! Woohoo!! *Pls rmb to use ONLY BLACK pen hor*
Pompoms: From daiso, tied by all my friends and fam <3
Balloons: from Party Mama shop
Flower petals: From a graduated bride on Facebook

Solemnizer was 1 of the most tao tiah (headache) thing to settle. That was one of the first few things we did once we set on the date. Ah wai called up like 7 solemnizers but none are free. zzz. Panicked, I went to ask around and texted Mr Patrick Tan. LOL! 1st try and tadah! Chopped him. He's quite friendly and humorous. And taught us what focus for taking pictures, how to wear the ring so can take nicer pics. He's also punctual on the day. But downside is that he can't really converse in Mandarin and pronounced Ahwai's name wrongly a few times. Ok la I pang chance, his name so hard to pronounce, like out of 10 only 0.5 can pronounce correctly at the first try.

Photographer: SMILE Moment PhotographySettled with them randomly cause it's the most pocket friendly price. The PG abit shocked us with his outfit thou cause he came in T shirt/ shorts and slipper like he lived upstairs #faint. But overall he is okay lah, quite proactive. Pictures skills wise, some are nice thou alot of pics I look abit fat. #sian. #fatjiufatdontblamepeople #iknow

The white one not so nice hor?

ROM Dress: Included in our bridal package. Went for first fitting and I settled for a short white tube dress cause after trying so many I couldn't find the ideal dress I wanted. Till like 4 days before when I go for a final fitting and I re-tried this turquoise dress, suddenly it look so much nicer leh. HENG STILL GOT TIME TO CHANGE MY MIND. So i chose that instead. HAHA. #bestchoiceever

Nails: The Nail Lab. This is like the nicest manicure and nail art I ever had in my life i swear. I don't usually do nail art cause, ahem. Im a cheapo. HAHHAHA. But I really got to hands down to Seethi for doing such a great job for my mermaid themed nails.Super love <3

What I initially saw and wanted.

This is the final product, Not bad right!

ROM Cake: Blackbird Bakery, Salted caramel flavour. Papa last minute say sponsor me a cake for the ROM and HURRAY. Looked for Brenn again from Blackbird Bakery cause previously she did Ahwai's birthday cake. Im quite pleased with my cake, the colours look so nice hehe. For the salted caramel part, it really depends on individual. Some guests says its too sweet. Some don't like. For me, I almost gained a few kg after the ROM cause everyday I go home I will start pigging at the cake. It makes me crave for it everyday~

Shoes: Anna Nucci
Anyhow buy a safe colour at $50 so I can reuse for normal day, if throw away oso not so heartpain.
Then again I doubt I will cause its too high zzz.

Ok. Sibeh long already AND I HAVENT EVEN GET TO MAIN POINT -_-.

Okok, last part.

I bought toytoy's sweet lil dress from Aliexpress (Bought the bigger size and she still ended up looking like bazhang) and

Tui + Ahwai's collar from Carousell. Ps: I combined one of his old Collar from bkk with the ribbon, and turn out like that! Not bad hor? #igottaltent #quitecreative #can

Hand braided a make shift leash for tui in green and white (string from daiso, hooked from a old leash) #anyhowbraid

Rough planning of layout.
EVERYONE LETS MERMAID THEME YO~
