Ubin Day Trip

Hello! Today's post is of slightly different content, instead of spending our Saturday at the shelter, a bunch of us went to
Pulau Ubin.
Those of you who cant make it, don't be sad k, you can still catch up with us over here!

Have been yearning to go back to Ubin ever since my company's teambuilding, cause I didn't have much time to play with the dogs and explore other parts of Ubin then.

Days before the trip, Weijie popped up with this very interesting question of:
Do you need passport when you go to Ubin?

& the convo goes like this....

half way through the smarter ones like ann and joei were telling them don't need, so i text them in private to ask them continue to bluff the rest hahaha

And Ann so cute, still played along and say she need to go and find her passport.

Ok, and so our day started with us meeting at Tanah Merah MRT for the benefit of those who don't know how to go, and we had a bet - the last one who reach will have to pay hongwee's ferry fee -_-" , He ownself set this penalty one. And Kelvin was the last (don't think he paid thou haha).
(you must be wondering, so did they bring their passports? Weijie did! Hahahaha, Hong wee didn't bring but he asked half of his work place people to double confirm, ma lu enough!)

Everyone was very excited, especially hongwee because he almost board the bus 2-3 times without us HAHA.
Had our sumptuous breakfast over at the hawker, nasi lemak was *thumbs up*. Anna was able to join us last minute and she met up with us over at Changi V.

Another lady called Anne went with us too, she will go to Ubin every 10 days to visit and feed the dogs there.

We had a total of 10 pax: Jac, Joyce, Joei, Me, Hongwee, Weijie, Kelvin, Ann, Anna, Anne (LOL too many ANnsssss)

The boat ride was... very short, like 10 minutes? And guess what? 2 minutes after we board the ferry Mr Sim Hongwee wants to vomit already!! SERIOUSLY. The rest of us were spamming insect repellent while he continues to control his juice.

You see his ' I cannot tahan already' face

Upon reaching, we roamed around the bicycle shops and I saw this black+white girl (dog not human) lying under the bicycles. It took me awhile to double confirmed that shes the one I fed and play with during teambuilding :) She had grown quite a lot within 2 weeks!

She's Meimei :)

Our first activity of the day was to feed them. More and more dogs came over when they smelled the food. I wonder why I used to be soooooo afraid of the Ubin dogs when they are actually sooooo lovable and friendly. Never did I imagined myself to come to Ubin willingly - TO FIND DOGS.
These furkids gobbled down the food within a short period of time.

After an hour or so, we went for our next activity - Cycling. Joei and I had a hard time searching for the right bicycle -_-" Don't laugh hor, the route so rough, must find one of suitable height what.. I don't want to risk rolling down the slope and become Bo geh (toothless).

Somebody suayyy dao, kena 'birdshit' before we start our journey

10 minutes into cycling and Im already dying.....

The rest can see me swinging left to right, right to left, struggling to move forward. Why am I so weak!?!?!!? The previous time I came, cycling was a brisk. Hmm. Must be the route lah.
Luckily there's Joei to accompany me, while the rest chiong up the slope without stopping, both of us were crawling behind with our bikes, cursing and laughing and wondering why did we torture ourselves. All of us stopped by at the nearest shelter for a rest, and the rest lasted for a good 25 minutes?? Hahahaha.

Chit chatting

Gossiping

I damn cui.. Ann look so much refreshed fml.

Hongwee acting one handsome only zzz

Photo-bombing!

The nicest group pic of the day (in my opinion)
got the movie: "那些年 Na xie nian" the feel

那些年when we go pulau ubin

Passed by a place with an impeccable view of the quarry. But because of the sun, NONE of them is willing to take pictures together, all hid under the shade, as for me, I need to show you all the view (wei da ba?) and I cannot let myself down by cycling all the way there and leave without any nice pictures, so:

Nice right!!!
My jaw dropped when I saw the view.

While the rest......

Almost cant see Kelvin -_-

Hopeless Hongwee

Our main destination was Chek Jawa, bloody hell hard to reach!!

Cant remember how many upslopes and downslopes we've gone through before reaching that place. But well, it was worth the sweat. Btw, we are not supposed to bring our bikes in, have to park outside and walk in.

Ok. Sorry miss, I didn't meant to take unglam picture of you. I wanted to take pic of the toilet...

Opps and its her again.. Err.. I wanted to take pic of the house..

Joei, Me and Ann

3 sua gus, behaving like tourists

Part of the house

Im a muscular mermaid!!

Left the house and walked towards another direction to explore other parts. We forgo the tower because none of us would be able to make it to the top given our energy left.
Maybe Weijie can represent us to go up :/

Seriously, pack walk is so much easier than cycling..

weird feeling walking above these..
Im advertising for keen's wugui shoe again

Mosquito attacking *buzzbuzzbuzz*

When it comes to jump shot, only left.....

Finally saw wild boars when we returned to get our bicycles! The piglets are so damn cute they looked like little watermelons running around. A lot of humans (including us, kiasu singaporeans) gathered and spammed pictures of the boars.

Half way through our journey back, we met Mama dog, Ann fed her with one whole bag of her awesome meatballs and she followed/ led us back to the jetty. It was quite a distance and we enjoyed her company throughout. You cant experience this, definitely not in our commercialized Singapore island, sadly.

Sometimes I feel, the dogs over at Ubin are so much happier, despite the fact that they are more prone to skin problems as they are fed with left overs from the shop keepers, in exchange, they get tons of freedom to roam around the whole island, to swim as and when they like, to roll on the sand, and to be given a chance to live, without being discriminated.

Ah Pui swimming

Had our late lunch at one of the kopitiam/zi char stall.

Food was not bad, Mama dog will randomly walked to my side and we pat her as we eat. She's a very sweet girl which doesn't go around barking/chewing people, but just don't understand why people will start giving the disgusted face. Perhaps they don't know that their face irks me as much. *roll eyes until it flips*
Jac, joyce and Anne didn't join us for the cycling and so we only met up with them at the end to go back tgt.

The last dog we fed before leaving. He/she was damn famished that it gobbled down my treats within split seconds!! Poor thing!
We played with him/her using the glove, the simplest toy one can find :)

Going back...

Joei sky/sea gazing

Nice nice pic, and I was hoping that hong wee's nike shoe will drop into the waters.
They didn't sit there for long thou, the waves splashed all over them and they retreated back haha.

My fat backview..

Boys from Thailand

Ice cream!!

Fun doesn't just ends here. We went for last minute KTV session at Simpang (weijie went home and came back specially to hear Joei sing Da Hai Hahaha)

Joei laughed until want to die that night.

and late dinner at 85 thereafter. All the way till 11pm+ . Super fulfilling and happy day! We need to organized more trips like this. I don't mind going to Nanas again people!!

Ok I love you all! Byebye.
