Summary for the past 1 month (VA'S VERY OVER-DUED CNY PARTY)

ELLO!! IM BACK!!

Typing on my new ASUS lappy, no more hanging, no more waiting. Shiok ah..

 

Let me have a quick recap on what had happened for the past 1 month..

 

Conducted my first mini lesson at lorong halus, was rather well prepared for the materials but i sucked at giving presentations lah. Many thanks and apologies to my 'students' that day for being patient with what I had to share and explain. And also thanks to Minghui and weijie for helping to add on things that i wasnt able to put it across clearly.

So what we have gone through were:

1) what is classical conditioning?

2) what is operant conditioning and the 4 quadrants involved. (this is the most confusing theory part) 

3) leash pressure on dogs

its easy being said, but more often than none, we arent able to put it into action nor keep it in mind while we are handling the dogs, this is where we need ALOT of practice. Rmb to release the leash once the dog give in to u! its super important. Should the dog be pulling side ways, its not counted as giving it (if u give in, u are indirectly rewarding it for pulling around) so, you will need to judge when is right and when is wrong.

we had our first VA Chinese new year party at Viv's palace! This time round with lesser humans and dogs because some of them cant make it E.g. Merman, Gilbert, Hongwee, Ning, Phoebe etc.
But you all are always in our heart

 

 

The day started out with Yonglin coming over to my side to prep for our mushroom dishes.
Its pot luck once more and obviously its not very nice to bring egg mayo again, no creativity sia that dish. Ok its not even considered a dish -_- . This time round we prepared bacon with Enoki/Inoki mushroom and our self invented - dunno what mushroom plus mince meat/mashed potato dish. It turns out to be quite appetizing in terms of appearance. ;) Buay pai ah. got potential to become chef.

We were the first to reach her house despite being late to catch a ride from Fengyi. haha. Was greeted by a super big and spacious living room. And i thought we were gonna celebrate there, until they said: put the food upstairs.. all the things are at 2nd floor. i: "?!?!?!"

as i walked up my jaw dropped. Now i know why Minghui say her jaw dropped when she went to viv's . (OK LA YA LA I SUA GU LA. BUT REALLY UR JAW WILL ALSO DROP IF U WERE THERE I SWEAR)

Theres a very chio outdoor shelter with swimming pool plus waterfall, inside is mini bar and another living room alike place to chill. The others reached one after another and we had our Lou Hei together ^^ her parents were very nice to give us an angbao each :)

Although this time round we only have 2 dogs- Muddie and Angel, we have 2 babies around to keep us entertained!

we had a tour around the palace, guess what? we took her legendary private lift !!  5-7 sua gus getting super hyped over the lift. Whats so special? my house outside also got lift leh. 1st to 12 floor somemore. NONONO her lift is special one. 1st to 4th level IN HER OWN HOUSE, neighbours cannot share one please. 

Almost wanted to ask if her parents want to 收 another god daughter anot, no, 3 more..

and i super love Viv's bedsheet until I have the same one as hers now :) 

 

 

Had a mini surprise for Viv birthday, thanks to lynn and ann who bought the cake. Even thou our surprise failed rather terribly because she already saw the cake on the table haha.

 

After touring around, everyone sort of diffused into different part of the house. Most of us went to the living room, Lynn and marvin started playing pool while Ann enjoyed sitting on the bouncing chair.

The rest just nua-ed around the couch and watch documentaries..

When you found love in the shelter

We attended Minghui's personal lesson on DOGS. Not really about dogs, but more of her teaching us what she have learnt and researched over the years/ months..

师傅要传授给徒弟们, err to Jac and Joyce, it means master imparting her skills to her disciples.

Unlike hongwee, today's students are all attentive one ahem, we never fall asleep.

Ah beng with her anyhow scribbled notes.. written on envelope somemore, can someone pls buy her foolscape for xmas xchange?!!?!?

Our sick teacher was late for 45 mins hahaha, and looking half asleep. :P

And so, a summary of today's lesson (pardon me if i miss out any hor):

1) There are different types of ways to handle a dog. Be it positive or dominance training, we shouldnt restrict ourselves to choices. When we are open to more choices, we have more alternatives to explore and thus be more effective in helping the dogs. Of course, when we practice packleadership, we wouldnt hurt the dogs like SOMEONE with violent angry genes.

2) We need to know what to expect (i forgot the term la, dunno wad expectation one), meaning when we rehab the dogs, we need to know what do we want to achieve from them, do we want to desensitize them with human touch by the end of the session or do we want to be able to bring it out for a walk etc. If we know what want and are sure of our actions, then the dog will have more confidence in us too. Should we be unsure of our actions, the dogs will be like "what the hell are u trying to do to me?!" - something like that la.

3) We should go into the dogs world (by learning their body language and observe how they send us message through their behavior), and once we slowly build trust in them, then we start teaching human commands etc.

4) This one Jia Hui share one: Believe in yourself and you can do it. So if you think you can earn $3k next year, you can. OK STEADY NEXT YEAR I CAN EARN $3K!!! hahahaha. She can now bring peanut, baby and sasha out on her own! And the dogs are trained / synchro to walk in a DO-RE-ME pattern.

5) I rmb Minghui talking about Horses and Wolves. In the past, a pack will have an Alpha male, with all the females, some will have 2 alpha males, sharing a few females.. and as time goes by, with the everchanging environment, the hierarchy system changed, so in a pack now there can be like quite a few males sharing the whole bunch of females. Then!!! There will be one joker in the pack call Omega whose job is to entertain the pack. We have found our Omega in VA - HONGWEE!!!! (*I refused to be the omega).

In the carpark waiting for Baby Sasha and Peanut..Tui boy so lazy, keep lying down..

We did not go for packwalk today. Instead we went back to the most basic thing - practice walking the dogs. And so we walk to Pet movers that side, U turn, walk back to Ericsson, U turn, walk back to Pet movers, U turn....bla bla bla until the sky turns black.

In between I was walking Tui, and Jiahui exchanged Peanut with me... While I was opposite, Tui saw me and he just froze to the ground and look at me.... *awwwww*, I continued walking and Jia hui came to me saying: " He wants to find you lahhhh.." wahaha and i got my bf back.

Eh Ming hui, I told u he want to walk with me.. u say rubbish.. *Side stare*, den i go back and think hor, Piggy will also want to walk with u der, ma (in msian tone). So its not rubbish that Tui really wants to walk with me hahaha.. (pls start to retaliate me in whatsapp) Haha. Aiya whatever hor i know he wants to walk with me. Hahaha.

Brought peanut for a dip outside petmovers.. some bonding session with her.. she loves to swim and was so funny trying to submerge herself in the water..

Stayed inside Pet movers for the longest time. Another super LOVE incident...

Accompanied Anna they all to buy treats in the supermart..

 Tui just quietly followed by my side and walked me to the gate. Aiyooooo.... Dont know how to explain the feeling.. but its like, they are free to roam about and run, and chances of them sticking by ur side wherever you go is very slim. This little gesture of his really touched my heart. And he stayed by the gate there while I go in and buy things.

After I came out, slacked outside and chit chat with Minghui, he came over to the gate and stand there!! LOL. Even Minghui say: Go and find your bf la.. he's waiting. *insert unlimited love*

This is when all the Kio sai kio jioh tasks are all worth it.... 

The whole time there was photo taking session. So if you dont like me, or dont like my boyfriend, pls close this page now, theres gonna be ALOT OF OUR FACES. Dont say I never warn u..
