New Babies - Coco and Socks

Have been working on Coco, Tiger and Socks for the past 1 month, but Tiger went for homestay halfway through before I could see any progress in her, and got lost after that :(

Their standard position when I come in.

The trios

Tiger

Coco

Socks
*The picture damn fail, sorry if you see already will pek cek*

Too many lost dogs cases happening..
Chilli, walker, and now Tiger.. Sadly, I don't think she can survive in the outside world like Chilli..
And I wonder how is she doing now.

So without Tiger, I diverted my time and attention towards Coco and socks, and occasionally the 3 giants - Emma, Ernie and Eddie..

Do re me fa (soh) at the back

Ernie posing for cam haha

Look at sock's tamjiak face!!

Ernie is also very tamjiak one

Can you see the (soh) behind??
PS: Look at socks again, can only see her teeth hahaha!

My fav pic of Emma
Eddie

They are a whole sweet bunch especially Ernie. People will normally judge him before they get to know him due to his size and color, yes he is BIG and BLACK, but that doesn't mean he is aggressive and scary. He will prove you wrong!

CUTE BO ?!?! His antena ears *AWWW*

Ernie has special talent

not graceful enough T_T

Coco and socks are slowly opening up. And I make sure I prepare a lot of high value food for them every session. (Coco lah, so choosy, don't want to eat the more economical treats *Side stare*, Socks more Cincai, everything also eat).

Very blur pic, they are trying to run away from the bangala worker who was cleaning the kennel..

Socks:
Remember on the first session: She will freeze in a corner everytime I go into the kennel and twitch/shiver whenever I touch her body.

Like a mouse

Always this corner, this position..

Touching her head was quite a challenge as she tend to avoid and run around

Today: She wagged her tail and glinting smile when I stand outside its kennel.
:DDDD

Im able to touch her on her head without her running away that much, or at least she doesn't twitch anymore (need to work more to desensitize her to human touch), when I have super high value food, heh heh, she will shamelessly run up to me and show me her puppy eyes glowing with sparkles.

At times, Socks will also attempt to steal the food off my hand, cheeky girl!

Happy socks :)
However till now, she is still very wary of unfamiliar faces/ when she sense somebody is outside the main kennel, she will run and hide in a corner. Have to slowly find way to work on that hmmm.

When Im working with Coco and Socks, this neighbouring furball will peep over, hoping to get some food from me

How to ignore his pitiful look!?!?!

Coco:
On the first session, her face is like that:

Second session also like that.

Third session, STILL LIKE THAT.

With tails tugged in. Although she doesn't show any signs of aggression, she definitely isn't very happy with my presence. I know -_-

Minghui teaching me how to train her with food

Over these few weeks, she learnt how to give eye contact when I feed her..
And today she wag her tail at me also!!! SUPER TOUCHED SIA!!
Last session I realized that she can also be very sweet. and that she likes people to saying her cheeks, oh, she give me a short lick on my face too!

SMILE MORE COCO!!

Tried putting collar on her today, (ok, some of you must be thinking, collar only what very hard to put meh.. But you are wrong. Some dogs tend to run up and dog, dodging here and there to avoid the collar, it is very tiring for the humans to chase them around especially when we are rushing for packwalk), so for Coco, 60% of the time she will freeze there, 40% will dodge her head away, but so far so good. Spammed her with treats everytime I put and remove the collar. She will also react to her name when I call her now!! Whoo hoo! Sense of accomplishment.
Maybe to the people who have been interacting with her all along, this might be something very normal but ahem, its a small milestone for me. And seeing this gives me the motivation to commit more to this 2 babies, they sure have the potential to go out and see the world :D

Our shelter dogs: ITE Boys

Have you heard of the ITE boys?
If you have not, pls click on the link below to watch their video. Video was created by Minghui ;)

Theres another link in youtube done by tuckwah
(sosd's chairman)

If you are to lazy or unable to watch, i shall explain to you:

These 2 boys were found in Yishun Ite last year/ early this year (I cant really rmb) and the management called Ava to catch the dogs.
Videos and pictures of the way the boys were captured were circulating all over the internet, especially STOMP.

Its really quite heartaching to see how they were rounded, dragged, struggled and dumped into the van with a loud thud- Muddie was the unlucky one..

Aiya, picture says a thousand words, you should find ways to watch the video in order to feel it.

When I watch the clips on STOMP initially, never had I thought I would have the chance to see and interact with these 2 boys, and Im glad I did.

Ok, back to story.. While authorities find that the both of them are deemed aggressive and scheduled to be put to sleep, their saviour appeared.

SOSD took them in and a kind hearted lady Jac (who is now our regular volunteer :P) volunteered to rehab and help them.

Meet the ITE BOYS :
MUDDIE & HANDSOME

The following months comes with lots of patience and sweat for them to build trust in human again.

I remember seeing how muddie flip like a fish (exactly like what he did when he was caught) when we tried to leash and walk him.

Slowly but surely and with the help of FOOD AND TREATS (those are great tools to 骗 dogs that are greedy) the both of them slowly opened up..

MUDDIE
- Medium size with floppy ears
- Black coat (becoming choco brown now)
- Can flip like a fish
- Very shameless now
- Knows how to pose for nice angle thus the extensive no.of photos
Trying to act pitiful uh
- Super greedy
- was afraid of swimming initially but after intense swimming by cesar soo, he finally overcome his fear and swim like a duck
Our Ah beng teaching Muddie to swim and correcting my boy friend (on the left) most prob bcos he growl at my 2nd and 3rd bf
- Opposite to Momo, muddie is like a sunshine, always smiling, and trying to act cute
- He managed to walk across the obstacle course bridge because he wanted to eat the treats that Ning ad Jac were holding

- There's once back in the shelter, Muddie was greeting us eagerly behind the kennel and We found shit on his head. LITERALLY. We've got no idea how and where the shit comes from, but its very funny.
- He is one lucky fella to get fostered by our loving Vivien. Thats like the best thing that can happen to him for now.
Cause we are so sure that He will be in good hands. <3

HANDSOME
- Same size as muddie, but a more handsome face.
- He got that coolcool and quiet look
 Shuai ma?
- brownish black coat with distinctive rottweilier markings (two dot on his forehead)
- more timid and took a longer time to open up
- but once he is in the dog park... *ding ding ding* Tail's up!

- He managed to 放电 to peanut and now she is gaga over him.
- Very very sticky to Muddie.
When we are going for pack walk, he will whine and whine when muddie is out of sight. And will always try to catch up with Mud:
- He too was afraid of waters initially..

But he was too sticky to mud he decided to just go into the pool (all by himself!) just to catch up with his brother. And he did a total of like 5 rounds. Argh. i will try to upload the video here.. You've got to see it forr yourselves!

- Handsome was luckier than Muddie by a abit because he went to foster home 2 weeks before Muddie. And his foster family loves him so.

These wonderful pics are taken by no friend lynn

Look at how focused they are.. with Tricia

Such wonderful love:)

Remember, If we humans are willing to give them a chance to live, they will show you how they can transform and become wonderful companions.
Muddie and buddie are real-life examples.

Hope their story will touch your heart and have a great day/night!
