Cat lady

For my own keepsake, im copying whatever I posted on facebook here because in months or years to come, I doubt I will be able to track by the bloody timeline to find back what I posted.

 

And i think it serves as a good reminder for myself. In all aspect of life.

Ok, screw it, i went ahead to bring the box down. and i had a nice chat with a lady whom i have been scared of all these yrs since i was 7, i call her the cat woman cause she always feed the cats ard my neighbourhood. Amazingly after 16 yrs, and when i finally open up myself to step out of my comfort zone to talk to her, she is a really nice person. She thanked me for bringing the box for the cat...s to slp, and told me she has been feeding for a long long time, many residents complained/warned/threatened her when they see her feeding the cats and told her it is illegal. Some even mocked at her for being too free n waste money, she told them: whats wrong with that? I would rather starve and feed the cats, but its my business,what has it got to do with u.

true. talk about compassion.

And theres this cat below my blk constantly dragging her legs in an awkward manner, i finally know why. because somebody went to whack it jus cos they thought that thats the cat that poo outside their door. SIMISAI?!

You dont jus go ard breaking ppl's leg for the slightest reason, and you dont even have prove that its the cat! i hear already sibeh angst. idiot! some even complained that the cat poo outside (on the grass), seriously!! WHERE THE HELL U EXPECT STRAY CATS TO POO SIA! TOILET BOWL AH?!

anyway. the lady told me: ah girl ah you faster go home la, the haze very serious.. and so i left after saying goodnight to her. shes not that scary after all.. at least she've got a kind heart..  
And I understand that by posting such things, I bound to gain supporters (from friends and families) and sarcasm at the same time. Well, Im not in the mood to joke about this because I feel that, if you cant help the animals/less fortunate ppl/elderly or contribute to the society or think its lame to be doing all these, don't do it. No one's forcing you to like or love or follow what we do, but please, at the very least, just keep whatever comments you have to yourself. 

 

and that's why i said:

It isnt easy to keep doing what you think is right and ignore all the 'colored lenses', weird stares and negative comments from people. Some of them are ignorant, some of idiots and some out of good will but they just dont understand why you do the things you do.
I salute the lady and all the other stray feeders/rescuers and vollies whom are able to stand still and continue to do what they deem is correct. So long as we are not harming others nor doing things that are against our conscience, dont stop. We cant please everyone in this world, so we've got to learn when to listen to others and when to jus ignore.

Lets all learn to practice ZEN zzzzzz.

Impromptu shelter day with Daddy

 

 

Its supposed to be a stay-at-home-and-complete-my-project-day. But after spending the whole morning on the project, I was tempted to head down and play with the furkids for an hour or two. When my dad heard that Im going down, he ask: "you want to go down today ah? Only going to play with them right? I go with you.." Woah my dad so enthu, touched ~.~

So after I cooked my whole bowl of minced meat, we reached the shelter within 30 min.
I don't know why I got super excited when I see the familiar faces in the carpark, (abit siao) I quickly alight the cab and hopped over to them. (Come to think of it, its just that I see them at a later timing only what, but the feeling feels like I haven seen them for a long time), they just finished their pack walk.

They were talking to Hilda who was about to bring 2 newly rescued pups for vaccination - Tootie and Tracy. Uber cute I swear. They looks like German shepherd cross Rottweiler cross don't know what breed.

My eyes popped when I saw F4 on leash! Previously we only managed to bring Robin and Batman out, but this time Chelsea and Spidey were out too! That very moment, it furthers rekindle the determination we once believe which  our vision is to help more dogs, to let them have a chance to see the world outside and have a little bit more of 'life' despite not having a home to call for its own, and that it is possible as long as we have the patience and heart to do it. Before that, everyone would think that it is an unattainable goal get them out, looking at the way they hide and shut down under the tables. But, with weeks after weeks of love and patience from humans (weijie and huiyi), these little ones finally start to open up. Even if it is a little bit. *Insert many love*

Inside the shelter, we fed the dogs while daddy stand around looking at us busying with the dogs. And then we brought Tui and yen for a run at pet movers as they didn't get to go out. A few of them stayed back to bring grace, baby, sasha and peanut to pet movers also.

 

This is the first time I saw Grace. A very shy girl, and she likes to hop around 3 legged. She met with a car accident sometime back.

 

 

Over at the dog run, yenyen was flirting major time with another dog and her movements are super entertaining:

After playing for awhile, she decided to go emo at one corner. (staring into space at the back of the dog run facing ALL)

10 mins past..

15 mins past..

20 mins past..

 

 

 

and she is still there.

 

Until my dad got curious and went over to stare with her -____-

 

 

 

 

 

then, tui went over as well..

 

 

EH HELLO I BRING YOU ALL TO DOG RUN TO RUN NOT TO MEDITATE AND EMO ONE CORNER ONE LEH!!

A super fat cat lazing and sleeping its ass off on a sunny afternoon.

Keyword here: CAT.

I don't know to laugh or to cry when I saw this.

The fat cat really damn funny.

Perhaps yenyen was thinking: How come this cat's sleeping position look so familiar ah..

Day Trip to JB and Noah's Ark Adventures

Have you heard of Noah's Ark aka Nanas? Its like an Animal shelter previously located in Singapore which then shifted to Malaysia as the govt reclaimed the land.

I have been following their post for quite some time, and has always wanted to visit the sanctuary. I FINALLY, FINALLY had the chance to go there!!!!!!!

All thanks to my awesome shelter mates for making it happen! Jac, fengyi and tricia for sourcing the transportation, liasing with the driver and planning the itinerary.

Thanks to all the other people for making the trip so happening :)))

 

Our itinerary for the day:

9am: Meet at Bugis control station for pick up.

Humans going - Minghui, Jac, Joyce, me, howard( Ah dou), Euguene, Hongwee, Tricia, No friend Lynn, Vivien, Phoebe, Ning and Fengyi.

Luckily, the traffic and human traffic at the custom were rather smooth.

Went over to KSL for a quick shopping spree (Me and lynn, guilty as charged) while the others went to grab the donation items and food for the animals :P

Popped over at Xie Shao Guang's Vegetarian Restaurant for lunch.

Every one were famished.. The menu has lots and lots of food that I wanted to order, and its really damn cheap - like RM5.50 for a bowl of "lu rou fan" stew pork rice.

Drinks @ RM 1 and dessert at RM2. With RM 8 you can eat till you full.

After lunch we went to shop around the vicinity with quite a number of pet shops, clinics and pets accessories stores.

This dog is super friendly and sweet. It looked at me and start wagging its tail so hard and came over to ask for cuddles. Awwwww..

 Another dog with one of its leg amputated. Most of these dogs lost their legs due to hit-and-run accidents. Pitiful, but they are coping well now

 It has raw wounds resulting from probably dog fights.

Dog fights are inevitable as so many of them are co-existing together. this is just one of the examples, I have seen a few more with more serious wounds too :(

 

But Noah's Ark did their best to look out for dogs with wounds and would apply medication on them. So, in a way they are still in good hands.

What more to ask for when you have a shelter over your head, food to eat, freedom to run around and a chance to live?

 

Compared to the strays and dogs in puppy mills, these dogs are leading a better life.
