He scare the hell out of me [Sunday]

It was just another usual morning heading to the shelter and prepping the dogs for walk.

Only thing special was that we had 3 new vollies which came for the try out yesterday and came back again today :)

It's addictive ya?

Brought them in as Minghui was not around yet and some of our usuals are already in kennel 9..

Guinness tried to chew on 2 of the new vollies when they went in. But they managed to stay calm and he stopped.

Time and again, when Zahid the Bangala appears Guinness will go into a frenzy mode, it kept barking and barking till my ear drums are going to burst.

So we prepped the dogs and most of them went out to the car park to wait for the rest, I have to stay inside to wait for Viv to collect her partner of the day, while Jeanine, the new vollie stayed back AWHILE with me, really AWHILE to stop Guinness from escaping out. [Zahid was still within Guinness's eyeview].

A wrong move. A very wrong move. Jeanine squat infront of G to sort of 'calm' him, while i tried to leash him away so that he can stop behaving so crankily....................................................

The next thing I know, Guinness leaped and bite on her face! OMGWT*BBQ (()*)(*$&@*($&^*!.

I was shouting for her to get up immediately before Guinness starts attacking her face further and he reached out for her arms/hands. HOLY SHIT. I cant believe all these are happening right infront of me.....

He didnt want to let go for a few god-damn-long seconds.

Cant really remembered what I exactly did, but i remembered my asking her to stay away from him and spreading my arms like a mother hen. Zzzzzzzz.

The next thing is... TISSUEEEEEEE!!!!!

This cannot justify her wound. Forgot to take a pic ah. This is what's left with me till now. Eww, haven throw..

Her nose was bleeding, not a VERY BIG cut but it was bad enough, both her hands are filled with bite marks and 'holes' (Not puntured wounds, luckily) which i have never seen before la. :'((((

I feel so bad as I failed to protect her and all I could do was to wipe off the blood off her nose and hands and nose and hands repeatedly, and keep asking if she is ok. She told me she's fine. But I keeping telling her no, u are bleeding, she saw my face and ask: "isit really that bad?". I dont know if my expression scared her.. But i cant help it lah!!!! (Minghui, dont roll your eyes pls. U must be thinking: Wah lao, you very lousy... like tt also want to cry) Just yesterday night I was telling myself, Heng ah I wasnt around when Guinness attack the others, all hear say from Hongwee or the rest only...... Now I know why No friend lynn and Nikki are traumautised by him. And just yesterday, Paris lynn was bitten while bathing him.

Win liao lor, win liao. Guinness, you are officially awarded the "Most Biting Cases Dog" of the year.

I should give you a special collar/bandana next time as your present. TSK.

Back to Jeanine, we applied medication on her and SHE STILL WANTS TO FOLLOW US TO PACKWALK!! BRAVE OR WHAT. I bet if its other normal girls, they will 1) SCREAM, 2) CRY, 3) RUN BACK HOME.

I really salute her, and luckily she had her tenanus jab.

So people, it is VERY IMPORTANT for you to get your jab ASAP. *Hinting Ann & Hongwee*

Not that our dogs are crazy but its better to be save than sorry :)

Walked over to Halus, AGAIN.

And chilled in one of the further shelter just incase public COMPLAIN about us AGAIN.

Damn annoying everytime I think of it. Why cant we co-exist and share the area when its open for public? Our dogs dont bark and are constantly on leash. Selfish ppl who only know how to complain :/

Well, the far shelter isnt that bad actually. We took quite a few pictures over there.

Today's supposed to be a black day theme, cause we will be taking pics with the TRIOS - Junior, Baby, Tux

And so we stand under the blazing sun.. the dogs are super unco-operative.

And our pack leader only came towards the end.

BIGGEST PACK WALK EVER

Headed to Pet movers. The usuals are running about, and yenyen as lazy as usual.

Went back and bathed the dogs.

Impromtu visit to Oasis second chance.

And before we left the shelter, I saw.....

Solo limping out with a man holding her on a leash. Thousands of question mark popped in my mind.

I HAVE TO ASK THE PERSON IF SOLO IS GG FORT HOMESTAY!!!

So I ask fat (Hongwee) to drive past, and I just randomly ask to clarify.And YES, SHE IS!! And they are bringing her to a vet to treat her wound first.

This is the 2nd time in the day when my nose feel sour.. But its happy tears.

Goodluck Solo, you know we loved you. And we wish you all the best in your foster home,a place with no more dog fights, no more wounds, no more cold hard floor which you can only sit and stare into space to.

& I can foresee my next post will be a very Emo one.

Our Shelter Dogs: The long-legs terrorists

Cracking my brain for the Creative Expression Competition. Argh. Lynn say im very gan cheong cause submission date starts on 8th. Alah, Singaporean spirit ma. Kiasu kiasi.

It's finally our long-legs terrorists'(including the one in the middle - he's up for adoption, any takers?) turn to appear here:

They might not be the cutest, might not be the fattest but they have their adorable yet annoying side.

Here we have: Nicole & Joy!

NICOLE

- Medium to large size

- Light brown coat with pointy ears

- Honey colored eyes and eye liner which make her look evil

- Quite tall, as compared with tui & yen :P

- Super high energy and naughty

- Need to be taught rules, limit and boundaries

 

- Love to run up and down and roll on the floor after bathing

- Loves to pounce and chew on you

- A great escapee, always find way to squeeze out of gate when we are entering of leaving

- Afraid of waters and crossing over drains, but cesar soo wont allow that to happen. Suay suay she was being walked by minghui and her fear for drain was exposed. And she couldnt continue her pack walk until she cross over that drain haha.

LOL. Nicole: I bite die u!

She climbed all over minghui's head when we put her in the swimming pool. being the usual hyper active and irritAting self, you wouldnt have guessed that shes so chicken.

- Also, she was actually one of the dogs that i dislike/ afraid of initially because she keep pouncing on me non stop, until one day mh gave me a task to leash her an lock in the kennel. I thought i couldnt do it, but i did. So nicole wasnt that scary at all.

The day when I realise nicole can be cute too..

- Can I say she is easily contented? give her a raw hide and she will how u how happy she can be by running up and down the kennel playing by herself.

Nicole: YUMMY

- The only one who knows how to play a ball. I will throw and she will chase and pick it with her mouth and drop somewhere near me when i call for her. But it depends on her mood and concentration level :/

- One if the smartest and the first to learn how to sit and down. Teaching her how to 'paw' now.

- Loves to disturb the other dogs. Im not sure if its her way of expressing love but it really irritates some of the dogs which led to dog fights.

- Attacked Meimei (an 8 yr old dog) and resulted in meimei being traumatised. After which transferred mei over to other kennel, Nicole wont give up, even if she sees her outside she will attack her. This super thick (literally) skin girl here needs alot of correction and a very firm handler... tsk.

- Her new nickname is 'nobody's love' given by me -_-" and hongwee calls her the terrorist.

JOY

- medium to large size

- choco brown and black coat

- Very cute floppy ears

- Very soft fur on her head

- almost same height as nicole

- Ex failed pack leader of the previous kennel she was in

- Dislike her at first too cause she was alwAys seen with the swearing face

trying to dominate the other dogs. Which gave her the big bullyface. No aura yet trying to be boss, you know?

- She was then transferred over to block 2 and live with Tui yen and nicole, where she adapted well. i think she is good being a follower

-She will always give a super shiok expression when you bath her

- And soon, she became one of the sweetest dog which will always come to you for hugs and cuddles.

- Once in a while u will still see her swearing face but she improved alot already.

- Shes the last among Tui, Yen, Nicole and Meimei to learn how to sit. Slow, but with lots of p

atience and practice, she managed sit on command now too.

- Shes one example of dont judge a dog in one or two session or times you've seen them. Give them some time and you will realise their (strengths) 优点..

Guinness

- medium to large (more of large) size

- Pointy ears and light to med brown coat

- Super long legs

- he was sent to the shelter for rehab

because of his weird aggression and his owner couldnt cope with it.

- He was quite aggressive and unsettled, we wouldnt dare to go near him and used a fake hand made of pvc pipe, glove and newspaper to assess him.

- He was awarded the 'Unpredictable attacker' in my opinion. Every other week theres news of what he had done during volly session

- His ultimate enemy seems to be the bangala there, which he will bark like crazy whenever he saw him( the bangala) passing by or coming in to the kennel. Must be the bangala did sth to him la.... tsktsktsk

- Guinness undergo training so he is like super smart and is good on command e.g Sit, down, hi five, paw etc.

- always crosses his front legs in a lady-like manner, or should i say its like gentleman crossing his legs.

- He traumatised me to the max on one session when i have to transfer him from one kennel to another (which was one big round around ericsson).

Wasnt using a proper leash at that time and didnt expect him to ki siao with 100000 volt of energy. He dragged and I almost fall a few times, hands gg to have blister from abrasion and I wanted to cry.. Felt so helpless as Ive got no more energy but i cant afford to let him run loose.. Until i saw minghui, and i shouted for her with my life, after i closed the gate door behind me I jus release guinness (lol i think mh must be rolling eyes and swearing in her heart now if shes reading). Got cut by the uneven tiles as guinness dragged me. Present from him to me :/

- tested and proven he 吃软不吃硬 (have to use a soft approach instead of threatening / approaching him directly) 。

The vid below shows how minghui remove ticks from Guinness'ears. The front part which wasnt recorded - Richard wanted to head straight in face to help Guinness remove the tick with a tweezer in his hand and guinness growled fiercely at him, mh took over and....:

Whoever who approach him face to face, eye to eye and hover above him( because u are taller than a dog), you 找死 (courting death). If you are tired of your life and want a new way to die slowly, do consider holding pcs of tissues and walk towards him... for a higher success rate, do it when the bangala is near..(kids below 16 pls do not learn).

I wasnt present during all the attacks so couldnt I give a detailed description, do correct me if im wrong:

* Incident one he pounced/attack one of No friend lynn's friend and tore his top. this one epic.

* Incident two he suddenly bite Jac near her armpit-.-

* Incident three he attacked Huiyi's bf

- my jaw dropped when Minghui told me to walk guinness on one session and i couldnt slp that night.

- But he has he good side also, a very nice and obedient dog to walk, only thing is you will have to be alert when theres ppl or other dog passing by..E.g the api api park incident. Now I love walking him, but the only sad thing is that Tui hates him, so I cant have best of both world....

- I like the way he turn and look up to me when we are walking, it feels like he is smiling at me... ok, it might be my imagination la.
