Don't wait no more..

If some of you haven't know, my BF Mr Tui had went for home stay some 2 weeks ago and so far, have yet to be returned to the shelter, so I guess more or less he had been successfully rehomed.
(Like finally after a few false alarm over the year, I have to constantly prepare myself for this type of goodnews/badnews).

Yenyen went for homestay too, and I guess she is staying there for good as well..

For the past 1-2 months I didn't had much chance to interact or walk him due to reasons like new comers joining our small family (and he & yenyen are those few which are easier to walk), and then I took up rehab for the trios thus more time were put in for rehabilitating them, by the time im done, im too tired to play with Tui, then came distemper case which causes us to stop pack walk for the whole month...

One fine Saturday (towards the end of the quarantine period for distemper which we set), I decided to ask Tui's rescuer for permission and just bring him out for a walk on my own.
 No more waiting, no more letting others to walk him even thou I wanted to walk him very much. I have been waiting for this day for so long, the previous time I came down during a weekday, another batch of volunteers brought him out already :/ ..

So its just a ME AND TUI time again!

Jeanine, Joei, Wei jie and Des happened to go down to shelter that day, all planning to OTOT and bring one of their fav dog out and so we had a mini pack walk to Harlus :)

The moment I took out the collar and call for him, he will run towards me and give a super happy face :D *Coco now also same pattern as him haha*

Words cant express the happiness in me as I walk side by side with him..

And he is by far, the only dog that has such a great chemistry with me I guess no other dogs can replace that..

Its a long walk, but you know when you cherish the time with the important ones, time seems to pass faster. I have planned to camwhore with him till gaogao cause I know I wont have much chance to do that and so I spammed ALOT of pictures with him that day.

We run at almost the same speed (ok lah, maybe he can win me ABIT) , but we out of breath at almost the same timing also haha.

But if you really want to know, its because I really have no time to take care of him should I bring him home..
Neither do I have car to bring him around..
Sigh, and if only I have a big big house for him to run about..

I wish/hope/pray he will be treated well in his new home, and I wish/hope/ pray that they will love him for who he is.. Not to use him as some guard dog for snakes etc..

Moral of today's blog post is..
Don't take things for granted. Cherish every moment you have. And if you really want to do something, try to do it ASAP because you dont know whats gonna happen the next minute. Be it family, friends or something/someone you love. They wont be always there waiting for you..


YES Im sad, but the first reaction I had when I heard about his adoption news is:
HENG AHHH!!! I managed to spend quality 4-5 hrs with him just 2 days before he got adopted without me know in advance..
& im very glad that I did not wait any longer to do that. If not I will be living with full of regrets now..
The only thing that I feel wasted is that I have yet to bring him home for one day, I managed to get permission from my parents to bring him back for one day (after bugging them for the longest time), but sadly, he got adopted before I can do that.

Well.. at least I brought him for a long long walk

Clicker training and dont piss us off

Its a rainy saturday.. supposed to go shelter for pack walk but we woke up to a heavy downpour..
heard that ericsson pathway was flooded.
waited till 9am but the rain doesnt seems to be stoppingnor getting smaller and so packwalk was cancelled :(
Poor doggies... we really wanted to bring you out, but all the humans are taking turns to fall sick :(

Last Last Saturday..

We had clicker training with fred at one of the HDB area. Peanut was my partner for the day. Prepared a whole bag of diced hot dog for her.

Peanut was much more nicer to walk as compared to last time. Perhaps because we know what we want to achieve now. And with the guidance from fred and shirley, i managed to stay on track and shirley helped to correct me on points that i didnt realise. We took turns to go up and role play as dog and handler, super funny..We get to do all the stunts that the dogs do to us during pack walk, tugging, jumping, sitting down, shutting down, run here and there and poucing on handler... 

Haha. I ran alot throughout the journey (as reward for peanut as she doesnt take food while walking). I managed to survived the whole session without water as we only had our treat pouch and leash with us, not even handphone ! Almost K.o-ed when i reach shelter.

On sunday was supposingly puopi's last day with us.

Slacked at the shelter as usual and nicole barked at one of indian woman standing at the side, as taught we should bring the dog nearer to the person to see what causes it to bark- was it out of fear or was it because she wants to play (Because when they bark doesnt mean they aggressive).

As weijie brought her nearer, the woman walked away, and a malay guy abt 20 + made a comment in a stern voice saying: "u better .... dunno wad the dog."

Everyone missed out the middle word. Den he kept walking to and fro and stare at us like he wants to challenge us.

We do understand that not everyone can accept animals or big dogs in public but well, your action and face just pissed 10 of us off hahaha. He walked in the opposite direction shortly after his gf (i assume) came. And.....

One by one we took our dogs and followed him for a good 100 metres i think? I took yenyen and tui. Havent walk the both of them tgt for ages. No harm. We just want to show them that mongrels are not as scary and dangerous as they seem so, dun judge and give us the stare, cause we never owe you nor hurt you nor cause any nuisance to you or the public.

They stopped and "rest" at the toilet area while we walked past them and hang around the area for a good 5-10 mins. And they continue to stay in the outside area of the toilet and look at us.

Wonder will we be stomped. =X

The weather was seriously killing all of us. 

All of us were practising loose leash training. Tried on my bf this time. Awwww he is such a sweet heart.

When he pulls, i stop, he turns back and look at me and walk back nicely to my side.

One thing that we were taught: dont just focus on correcting the dogs, u need to praise them when they are doing right by saying yes! Goodddd~. Its just like managing ur employees to subordinate, people focus too much on mistakes and forget to reward and appreciate the correct things that others have done.

We need to really need to put more attention to this.

On the way back to shelter, tui was walking super nicely beside me on my left. And so i tried using the kiapkiap and kiap him to my bag and i walk.

Eh dun anyhow learn and say i also do it hor. I have ample trust on the dog im handling and my eyes did not leave him throughout the walk. I still have co trol over the leash thou. Just wanna see if he can follow me without me holding on to the leash. When he smell the grass, i jus need to either wait for him or tug myself slightly in the opposite direction and he will go back to the original position without me calling him.

Gave him tons of praises and hugs :))
