Checklist for Pre-wedding Photoshoot with Dogs

Omgz. This draft has been stored here since forever.

4 months back, we did our pre-wedding shoot over at Farmway together with Toytoy and Tui --- This is one of my dream wedding shoot location because the shelter is a very special place to the 4 of us. I met Tui there when I first started volunteering, and then le hubz as he joined later on, followed by the fatty Toytoylim who was rescued from there too!

These 2 fatties have been in our lives ever since we met, went through our pak tor times, as well as witnessing our ROM, so now, how can we, ok maybe its just me, leave them out for such an important documenting event?!

Okay, let's talk about
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PRE-WEDDING SHOOT
if you plan to include your dogs
( Paiseh, I have no experience with other animals therefore unable to share much haha).

Few months before the shoot, I started window shopping for Toytoy and Tui's outfit online. Back then I still had no idea how to shop from taobao and so I got their stuffs from Aliexpress, and here's what I bought:

Toytoy - White wedding dress which, IMO, not as nice as her ROM dress but no fish prawn also good.

USD $3 nia!

Tui - Due to his size, it is either very hard to find a tux/suit that fits him or it is way above my budget so I decided to get him a more elaborated bow-tie instead. Ahem, still very handsome okay.

USD $6

cheap cheap kalipok!

I wanted to get matching silver weaved leash but it went out of stock and I didn't had enough time to get it before the shoot, so I made do with their usual leashes.

Things to pack for the day:

(For Dogs)

  1. Their outfit (depends if you want to wear it in the studio/ at the location itself or prior to going there)
  2. Doggy Comb (If your dog has long "hair")
  3. Hair clips/ hair accessories (Toytoy had 2 simple clips which I bought from BKK Chaktuchak I whacked a whole row of clips for her)
  4. Water and water bowl (They need to stay hydrated if not will tio heat stroke man, you can get those foldable bowls from daiso or local pet shops)
  5.  Poo bag
  6. High value treats / any food that your dog loves (this is to use as bait later on)
  7. Squeaky toys (if your dog prefers toy over food and it can be used to capture their attention for the camera)
  8. Wet tissue/  Tissue (Just in case they poop and you need to wipe their butt butt)
  9. Collar and leash
  10. Good friends/family members who can handle your dog(s) well (*** This is also important because without Jacq and Javin, we wouldn't be able to cope with that 2 monsters, I was too busy carrying my long gown)

(For Humans)
  1. Hair accessories of your own (e.g floral headbands etc)
  2. Black Bobby Pins (To pin up your loose hair along the way)
  3. Make up like foundation/concealor/loose powder/ lipstick/lipgloss/ eyebrow powder or pencil etc in case you need to touch up and your make up artist is not around.
  4. Slippers/flats (THIS ONE VERY VERY IMPORTANT especially if you can't walk in heels like me. The slippers really save my life hahaha. I was in my slippers 85% of the time)
  5. Props (Chalk board/ Banners/ Balloons/Pictures/Picnic baskets - which ever you like. In our case, the dogs were our props LOL! and followed by a precious packet of Truffle potato chips, a chalk board and some d.i.y-ed signs to hang around Tui's neck)
  6. Tissue tissue and more tissues! Same thing for wet tissues. You never know when you'll need it.
  7. Water/drinks
  8. Safety pins of different sizes
  9. Big bag to put everything inside
  10. Electronic handheld fan/ those orbit orbit de manual fan 扇子 also can
  11. HANDPHONE CHARGER!!!
  12. Insect repellant (you will need it when you go to those bushy bushy ulu ulu places, trust me)
We did our indoor shoot and Javin managed to bring Toytoy to the studio before we leave.. so we get to take a few shots with her

this dog sibeh unglam one. -_-" #likeownerlikedog

the 2 brides~
No, Toytoylim is not gonna get married to Tui because she has Johnjohn already.

Bonsai uncle and aunty so cute, they were so happy and gave me an orchid plant as a gift ^^

We didn't had much behind the scene photos because all our phones died (from taking too much behind the scenes during the indoor shoot HAHAHAH). This is why you need item number 11.
& also by then poor Jacq and Javin already going crazy, because of the dogs and props. >.< really thankful for their help.

Le small dog likes to run away after we have set her into position. And when she's back, le big dog decided to look away. Our photographer also jin effort, he kept imitating a dog's bark (really sounds like!) to get the dogs' attention. My squeaky toy only work for Toytoy. Tui is too chill so food and toys all didn't work for him. T_T but i can say he is quite good at staying still (or is it because he is too lazy to move)

Here's some sneak peak of the end product from our shoot:

Gowns: Yvonne Creative
Makeup: Minnie Makeup Artist
Photographer: Shaun from YC
Dogs: Our own thou Mr Tui haven't go home yet, soon soon!

REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR DOG FOR GROOMING BEFORE THE SHOOT.
